Restaurant Lolita is a straightforward Mexican eatery tucked into the lively 5 de Diciembre neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta. Known for its no-frills, authentic approach, it offers a casual atmosphere where both locals and visitors feel comfortable lingering over a meal without the pressure of a quick turnaround. The mix of indoor and sidewalk seating invites some quiet people-watching amid the steady street activity.

The menu presents a solid lineup of traditional Mexican dishes, leaning heavily on familiar favorites like enchiladas verdes, pozole, sopes, and tacos — all prepared with fresh, local ingredients. Several diners note the standout homemade guacamole and salsa, with a subtle twist of cheese incorporated, adding a depth of flavor a bit different from your average Mexican fare in the area. Breakfast options like hotcakes and a local-style omelet also surface as solid choices for early risers hoping for a hearty start paired with freshly squeezed orange juice.

Service at Lolita tends to be attentive without feeling rushed, supporting the relaxed experience. The language barrier is handled thoughtfully; while Spanish predominates, the staff make an effort to accommodate English-speaking guests, making it accessible for tourists who want a more local dining encounter. Prices remain reasonable, reflecting the neighborhood’s everyday vibe rather than tourist-centric inflation.

This restaurant fits best for those who appreciate honest, home-style Mexican food in an unpretentious setting — ideal for casual breakfasts, laid-back lunches, or easy dinners. Early mornings or midday visits are great for catching the local rhythm, complemented by the occasional refreshing michelada or a simple cold beer. The longstanding presence of the place, having served the community for over 70 years, adds a quiet sense of trustworthiness and continuity to the experience.

Nice little street side restraint. Food is fresh, service is prompt. Prices are fair. I wouldn’t say anything is outstanding but it is very good. Inside And outside tables. Great for people watching. Never felt rushed

Such a cute local restaurant! We have gone back multiple times for inexpensive delicious food. It is all in Spanish but they do their best to translate and accommodate to tourists. Fresh orange juice for breakfast was a favourite.

We walked up and down the street multiple times on our trip and decided to randomly pop into this restaurant. We were surprised at how delicious the food was, especially the homemade guacamole and salsa. I know it’s a regular menu item but it’s extremely fresh and they include cheese in the salsa which was surprisingly great. For our entrée, we went with fish tacos which were also amazing.

Amazing burritos!! Perfect combination of crispy and soft, delicious cheese. José speaks enough English and is not critical when I try to speak Spanish. VERY reasonably price. Place has been in business for over 70 years!

We got the Lolita omelet which was excellent and good value! The atmosphere is casual, the food came quick, and was exactly what we hoped for.

Loved this place - we randomly stopped here for some drinks and tacos and I'm so glad we did. Between the two of us - 4 beers and 9 tacos (6 beef, 3 pork), we spent 380 pesos, so about $24 cdn - I'm sure there were probably some taco trucks off the main drag in downtown PV, but it was a restaurant and had tables inside and outside along the sidewalk, so it was nice and relaxing. I would have taken a lot more photos, but we were starving! We would definitely come back here to try more items from their menu.

Cute, charming locals kind of spot. Best meal under 200 pesos in my opinion. I'm incredibly fond of the Mexican steak and the enchiladas.

Experience local day to day cuisine! Breakfast, lunch or dinner. Located among big restaurants in a busy area, this humble place offers flavourful food for those looking for homemade dishes. Staff were attentive and with big smiles. Facilities could be improved, but just focus on the amazing food!
